The North Carolina Wildlife Federation (NCWF) has announced the 59th Annual Governor’s Conservation Achievement Award recipients – naming Atlantic Packaging as the Business Conservationist of the Year. The NCWF is dedicated to protecting, conserving, and restoring North Carolina’s wildlife and habitats and has been doing so for the past 78 years. The organization founded the Governor’s Conservation Achievement Awards to honor individuals and organizations with a strong commitment to protecting and conserving wildlife in North Carolina.
Atlantic Packaging actively engages its 800 employees across North Carolina in conservation efforts, providing sustainability and conservation education to inspire more sustainable practices both at work and at home. As a leader in sustainable packaging, Atlantic’s influence extends to North Carolina cities such as Charlotte, Greensboro, and Wilmington, where employees collaborate with local organizations to promote environmentally conscious practices during major events and contribute to coastal beautification. Through partnerships, investments, and outreach efforts, Atlantic Packaging impacts conservation initiatives, fostering positive change in North Carolina and beyond.
Atlantic Packaging CEO Rusty Carter and President Wes Carter accepted the Business Conservationist of the Year Award on behalf of the organization.
“Quite an honor to have Atlantic Packaging recognized as the Business Conservationist of the Year by North Carolina Wildlife Federation,” Wes Carter said. “We believe conservation and sustainability are fundamental to business today. Healthy life must have a seat at the negotiating table. It’s our firm belief that if we always consider life in our decisions, our world can evolve to a much more balanced and reciprocal place. All we have to do is listen to nature. She is speaking all the time.”
Atlantic Packaging is honored to receive this award and is especially excited to be considered among other individuals and organizations with a focus on the conservation of NC’s wildlife, habitats, and natural resources. It’s through all of our efforts that we preserve and protect the beauty of our state. Together, we are shaping a more sustainable future.
