One of the biggest challenges businesses face when trying to transition to sustainable packaging is how to efficiently and effectively apply new sustainable materials, especially in high-speed, highly automated packaging lines.

Atlantic Packaging Latin America celebrated Printer’s Day to honor our valuable, hard-working print shop experts!

Offset, Flexible, Flexographic, & Digital Departments came together to reflect on their successes and enjoy barbecue and games. Department supervisors gave out certificates and recognition to those that excelled in their respective areas over the year.

We are so proud to have such talented employees, and it was our pleasure to take time to honor them.

Plastic recycling isn’t just good for the enviro

Plastic recycling isn’t just good for the environment, it’s good for business too!

We hosted the Carolinas Plastics Recycling Council (CPRC) at the Packaging Solution Center for a day to focus on collaboration across the plastic recycling value chain. A collaboration between the governments of North and South Carolina, CPRC advances recycling markets and impacts in both states to create jobs, build local wealth, reduce energy and natural resource consumption, and reduce the tax and cost burden when plastics are disposed as waste.

"The CPRC is connecting the dots between the obvious sustainability benefits of recycling and the economic opportunity it presents," said Atlantic's Sustainability Director Caroline DeLoach. "For example, the Carolinas lose about $52 million in economic value annually just from not recycling plastic bottles. Advancing plastic recycling markets in the Carolinas like through CPRC's 'Your Bottle Means Jobs' campaign is critical for our economic development."

This meeting featured educational lectures, insightful discussions, and positive predictions for the future of recycling.

The event concluded with a tour of our facility; showcasing our stretch film recycling equipment to others involved in the recycling of plastics was an honor.

Atlantic Caribbean passed its SMETA audit with a compliance score of 100%, proving our commitment to ethical and sustainable business practices!

SMETA is one of the most widely used audits in the world, and our most recent participation proves our dedication to upholding responsible labor, health and safety, environmental, and ethical business standards.

Special thanks to our Audit Team and all of the members at our facility in the Dominican Republic for the work they do to ensure our business operations are satisfactory for our employees and the supply chain.

Caroline and Gabi from our Sustainability Team took a trip to one of our printing and graphics facilities to meet with senior managers and discuss how we are sustainably optimizing our manufacturing processes.

Waste reduction, equipment efficiency, and creating closed-loop systems for materials were topics of discussion during the tour of our converting and manufacturing hub.

It’s inspiring to see how sustainable business practices and continued improvements in environmentally friendly operating procedures are consistently being implemented and improved upon across our footprint.
